## Email: Your Digital Letter Box

Email (short for "electronic mail") lets you send messages to anyone in the world instantly — for free. Think of it as a letter that arrives in seconds instead of days.

### Parts of an Email

**To:** The email address of the person you are writing to (e.g., [email protected])

**Subject:** A short description of what your email is about (e.g., "Thanksgiving dinner plans")

**Body:** The main message — what you want to say

**Send button:** Tap or click this when you are ready to send

### Reading an Email

1. Open your email app (Gmail, Mail, Outlook, etc.)
2. Your **Inbox** shows all messages you have received
3. Tap any message to read it
4. Tap the **back arrow** to return to your inbox

### Writing a New Email

1. Tap the **Compose** button (usually a pencil icon or a + button)
2. In the **To** field, type the recipient's email address
3. In the **Subject** field, type a brief description
4. Tap in the large white area below and type your message
5. Tap **Send** when finished

### Replying to an Email

When you receive an email and want to respond:
1. Open the email
2. Tap **Reply** (usually an arrow pointing left)
3. Type your response
4. Tap **Send**

**Tip:** You do not need to retype the subject or the other person's address when replying — it is done automatically!
